Soudary Kittivong-Greenbaum
Translator | Weaver | Admirer of stillness
Role: At New Seneca Village, I lead resource mobilization and sustainability—amplifying stories of transformation, and making the case for why this work matters towards a collective, liberatory future. I build bridges and invite those who share our vision for transformative leadership to join as stewards. I nourish relationships and build the infrastructure that lets this work take root and grow.
I’m drawn to the Village’s vision for restorative leadership because I believe it: there has to be a better way to make change—one that makes room for the work and for breath, for care.

Soudary (she/her) joins New Seneca Village with a storied career accompanying leaders to sustain support for, and to grow the impact and reach of diverse social-purpose missions. With 25+ years in the field of integrated development, communications and organizational growth, she values connecting with people who are called in to steward strategies that hold wellness, equity and imagination together.
Soudary previously worked as a strategic marketing and fundraising consultant, and served as head of fundraising and external relations for regional and national youth and families, public health and educational nonprofits. She holds a Masters in Public Service from DePaul University, and a Bachelors in Asian American Studies and Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Honoring her Grandma who taught her the value of mutual aid and widening the pha-khao (dining table) Soudary makes time for community. Currently, she volunteers for a play-based early childhood program, her local farmers market; and mentors and coaches nonprofit leaders in her network. She is a self-taught gardener and often starts her day tending to her growing collection of Monstera, Prayer Plants, and Pothos. Soudary lives with her family in North Texas.

What questions are enlivening you in this season?
-
What are ways we can nourish one another and weave into everyday life?

-
How can our actions foster ease and joy for others? Living in a multi-generational household, I've learned that when we have accompaniment, we thrive. I'm inspired to create cultural practices of ease, belonging, and connection for my children—and all our children.
What inspired you to begin work in this field of restoration and transformation?
I believe and trust that “another world is possible.” As a resource mobilizer, I lead with relationships built through respect for the craft and respect for one another. In an ever-evolving world, I stay grounded by centering care, kindness and by staying curious and showing up fully.
How do you envision the future when our restorative vision is realized?
When who we are and who we're told to be are no longer in conflict, we can envision a future of health, joy, and equity for everyone—especially those contributing to their communities in ways small and large. We should be valued and free to live as we contribute.
What personal practices ground you when doing restorative or visionary work?
Honoring our ancestors. My grandmother dedicated her life to community—our small town had three Theravada temples, and she was active and respected in all. Grandma taught me conviction and kindness, and showed me that meaning comes from connection—a responsibility to the whole, not just one's own family.
