Who is New Seneca Village & Why This Offering?

New Seneca Village is a paradigm-shifting project exploring what becomes possible when leaders and healers intentionally examine and evolve the patterns and practices shaping their leadership through our core principles of restoration, connection and visioning.

We are interested in how these individual shifts influence the collective change we are working to create.

The Village is a liberation practice inviting you to reconsider and actively shift how you resource yourself—strengthening your relationship with what nourishes your life force and releasing what depletes it—so that your leadership is sustained with greater intention, renewed clarity and a lifelong commitment to care.

Our Ask

What's the Catch?

New Seneca Village is a complimentary restorative experience.

Here, there is no expectation to create, perform or produce.

This experience is an invitation for Villagers to make space for restoration, curiosity and the practices that help them sustain their lives and leadership.

We ask for the Following commitments from all Villagers. â€‹â€‹

Village Exchange

The Village is sustained through reciprocity.

We ask each Villager to contribute at least 12 hours during the year following their residency to connect with, learn from and share with others in the community.

Through this exchange, we strengthen relationships, circulate wisdom and cultivate an interconnected community of leaders who continue to support one another long after their residency experience.

  • Show up with attention and intention

  • Participate fully in each of the five (5) residency elements

  • Complete reflection surveys to inform Village iteration

  • Contribute 12 hours of energetic exchange with/in the Village community during the year following residency

Attention & Intention

The Village is a co-created experience.

What you receive is shaped, in part, by the presence, curiosity and intention you bring.

We invite Villagers who are ready to engage fully—to make space for reflection, connection and participation on their own and with/in the Village community, and who understand restoration as essential practices for life and leadership.

Still Have Questions?

For Clarity

Completion of an interest form is not a guarantee of an invitation to a 2027 residency.

New Seneca Village reviews and chooses Villagers in alignment with our intentions as defined in our Founding Commitments.

We prioritize leaders who work in non-profit spaces, in particular frontline movement organizers, elders, low-income folks and others to whom resources are not traditionally extended and whose work is about advancing collective progress.

Tia Smith, Villager

You deserve this space and the opportunity to align with yourself and your purpose.  Take it seriously, as in be sure to guard the times and your energy surrounding this gathering and space. It's a deeply sacred and joyful blessing. It can be as intense or as light as you need it to be,trust the process and trust your inner knowing . Honestly best decision I made in 2025 to step outside of my fear of rejection and apply.

I was hesitant to apply for this residency and to accept the experience. I am the kind of person who seeks hyperproductivity as a way to avoid being with myself. I was scared.

But during my time at the residency, I learned valuable insights about myself and my needs, and developed a new community that supports each other in our healing and growth. I am so thankful.

I’d love for people to know that the residency experience is like a portal, a pathway, into the possibility of renewal in every dimension of our lives. Entering the experience was a series of moments for deliberate decision-making around ways we wanted to restore, with full autonomy and agency. That kind of choice—alongside carefully held containers and facilitation—is one of the beginning seeds for learning how to lead a more liberated life.

I'm literally telling everyone I know about this experience and encouraging folks to apply. It such a unique and important experience, the concept of resting and restoring is actually controversial and I appreciate the centering both of these concepts as something that we all deserve. It's a moment to again center yourself and talk to yourself and know yourself in a deeper, spiritual, life-changing way.
