New Seneca Village Integration Practices

The New Seneca Village restorative residency experience is an invitation to a more responsive and loving relationship with yourself, your purpose and your values.  The restorative residency experience integrative practices below have been curated from the Village team Village alum.

The New Seneca Village in-person gathering is an expansive time and returning to home and work can, for some, feel a bit abrupt and/ or rocky. We invite you to think about how you would like to return from an experience that is likely to gift you with new perspectives, knowings and practices.

Engage with and practice what works for you, ignore what does not, and create and adapt your own restorative practices on an ongoing basis.

If you would like to share your post-restorative residency experience practices with the Village, we would love to hear from you at team@newsenecavillage.org.

Ease into Your Return

We encourage you to be mindful in creating an intentional schedule for your transition back to life and work after residency. Consider creating space in both your personal and professional calendars for a slower and easier re-entry.

Nourishment

Consider arranging for prepared meals or a grocery delivery to ensure you have nourishing and sustaining options ready for the days following your return from the residency. Don't forget to have the food choices that bring you pleasure and joy!

Be In Nature

As you transition from the restorative connection gathering, there is a gentle call to reflect on and embody the wisdom, realizations and lessons shared during our time together. We encourage you to create moments to be and connect with nature — whether that is visiting your favorite park, finding a nearby water source, or simply walking barefoot on the earth. Let nature be an ongoing source of support and renewal for you.

Energetic Exchange

Reach out to someone from your restorative residency experience, or a Villager from a previous residency, to share what you have noticed and what continues to move in and through you. Create an accountability partnership to support integrating your own practices more deeply into your daily life.

Pause

As you return from the Pause of the in - person gathering, remember that you can access pause at any time. We continue to invite you to integrate moments of pause into your schedule for the rest of your life. This could look like spending some moments in the sun each morning or giving yourself sufficient breaks between meetings. Get creative and stay committed to taking time away from constant doing. .

Sustain Sounds

While at the restorative connection gathering, we were enveloped by music and sounds that deeply supported our restorative residency journey. One practice to help maintain the energy and experience of the residency is incorporating music or nature sounds into your daily environment.

Check out the Village playlist for some reintegration vibes and keep the spirit of the residency alive in your ongoing restorative journey.

Connect + Share

Connect with someone who makes you feel seen and heard to share your reflections from your restorative residency experience. Engaging in conversation with others can help provide an opportunity to ground more deeply into what you are creating for yourself and your intentions moving forward.

Moment to Pause

  • We invite you to sit quietly and comfortably with your feet on the ground

  • Invite yourself to notice and connect with your breath [In through the nose. Out through the mouth].

  • Sense the restorative residency experience energy around you.

  • Remember the feeling, the smells, tastes and sounds that make up your vision of intentional restoration now.

    • What intentions do you have for your ongoing restorative journey?

    • What are you creating for yourself – for your life and leadership?

  • Close with 3 deep breaths.

We invite you to continue to reflect on and connect

with the intentions and the visions that you hold for your ongoing restorative journey so that you practice and create it

from moment to moment to moment.
